I am interested to join in your projects, are there any prerequisites?

“Not really. However, our activities are targeted mainly at youths. Training is provided, and we welcome anyone to take part in our projects as long as you are willing to learn and serve/ help.”

2. Who are the people who have taken part in these activities?

”Our past participants range from students to young working adults of all ages and nationalities, who are united in their desire to contribute something to the lesser fortunate by giving their time and talents.”

3. How are the activities funded?

“Each activity/ project is self-funded – in each project, the participants use the funds they raised for materials for the projects e.g. paints, brushes, gloves etc. For larger-scale projects, such as overseas projects, the participants work harder to raise more funds. The fund-raising portion is organised by the participants themselves as it is part of the service project and helps with team-building. Our private fundraising activities vary with the available time and talents of each of our participants, such as bake sales, selling crafts etc. The supporters are usually our family members, our friends, classmates and colleagues and neighbours.”

4. I am a Singapore Youth looking to fulfill my CIP (Community Involvement Programme). Can I do so?

”Yes, you can fulfill your CIP points requirements through our activities. However it will depend on our available projects. We have a number of on-going local projects such as visits to the needy and yearly overseas service trips. Keep a lookout for our upcoming projects for project announcements or email us at communityworks[at]familyes.org.sg to enquire.”

5. I have never gone on a service trip before, but am interested to try. Can I take part in the trip?

“We welcome all who are interested to join, however, participants will need to commit some time prior to the trips as preparation work – such as talks and sharing sessions – to prepare themselves for the trip. In fact, a number of our volunteers have never gone on service trips before either.”

  1. Hi,

i am experiencing problems in contacting your email. Could you send me an email regarding the local and overseas camp and other activities that do not include flag days. Also, is there an age limit?

    Thanks,
    Anyssa
